A Good Girl's Guide to Murder's Chilling Trailer Is Your Booktok Obsession Come to Life

Pip Fitz-Amobi is on the case. 

But this time, her story will play out onscreen as the TV adaptation of the beloved book A Good Girl's Guide to Murder hits Netflix in August. And with the show's newly-released trailer, it looks like the wait will be more than worth it. 

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder follows Pip (played by Wednesday's Emma Myers) as she tries to solve the murder of her schoolmate Andie Bell (India Lillie Davies), which occurred five years earlier. Because while the police and town believed it to be a murder perpetrated by Andie's boyfriend Sal Singh (Rahul Pattni), Pip isn't so sure.

And with Sal also dead, Pip will team up with his brother in an attempt to clear his name.

But as seen in the series' trailer, the closer Pip seems to get to the truth, so too does danger draw nearer. As Sal's brother Ravi (Zain Iqbal) warns her, "If they find out you're looking for them, isn't there a chance they could come after you?"

And if the panicked run through the woods, threatening texts, warnings from local police and tears shed in the trailer are any indication, Pip might indeed need to watch her back. 

Originally commissioned by the BBC, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder's TV adaptation is based off Holly Jackson's young adult mystery novel of the same name, though the story is set onscreen in the U.K. rather than the book's original setting of Connecticut.

And for Emma, whose portrayal of werewolf roommate Enid Sinclair on Wednesday soon became a fan-favorite, she knows audiences will take quickly to this new whodunit. 

"I'm thrilled about this show, and getting to be Pip has been a dream," Emma told Tudum. "Whether you've read the book or not, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder is an experience all around. I think people are really going to like it."
